For the new Red BB30 Crankset, SRAM delivers a lighter, burlier, and ultimately, more precise design. The new Red BB30 is built with Exogram technology, which lets SRAM use less material without compromising stiffness. The Red BB30 also features a larger (and much sturdier) crank arm, which allows SRAM to rotate the spider and reduce the number of spider arms to four. Not only does this result in a sleeker profile, but it also improves shifting quality and performance by reducing deflection. SRAM’s X-GlideR chainrings are machined from 7075-T6 aluminum and are made to work seamlessly with the 11-speed drivetrain. SRAM also improved the ramp and pin pattern for enhanced high-torque performance and impeccable combination with the Yaw front derailleur. SRAM still uses a 130mm bolt circle diameter on the standard and 110mm on the compact crankset, which all-but guarantees compatibility with aftermarket chainrings.
