With its introduction of the Red group, SRAM again proves that it’s always on the leading edge of component design and technology. The SRAM Red Road Chainring is an integral part of the Red group and serves as a platform for precise shifting across SRAM’s 22-speed gear range. It’s also got a sleek aesthetic that builds on the SRAM Red 10-speed chainring design. The colorway title, “falcon grey,” calls to mind the swift and precise dive of a peregrine, which is appropriate since the SRAM Red Chainring’s improved shift timing pins and ramps increase shifting speed and precision when integrated with the Yaw-caged SRAM Red front derailleur and chain. SRAM engineers borrowed design components from the X-Glide drivetrain technology found in their top-end XX mountain group to create a road version, X-GlideR. The new SRAM Red Chainring is also stiffer, thanks to precise machining of the 5mm 7075-T6 aluminum, which improves power transfer and facilitates faster, quieter, and more precise shifting than comparable chainrings. It’s available in several size options, allowing you to maximize your cycling experience based on your specific gearing needs.
